Pastel De Tres Leches Recipe

This is probably one of the easiest Mexican pastries you can bake! Its a rum cake drenched with 3 milks & rum. I made this for Christmas, as it's my husbands favorite. I hope you Enjoy!

Pastel De Tres Leches

Ingredients:
Pillsbury Yellow Butter Cake (Baked according to directions)**
1 Can of Nestle Carnation Evaporated milk
1 Can of Borden Condensed Milk
1 Quart of Whipping Cream
1/3 Cup of Powdered Sugar
1 Cup of Whole Milk
1 TSP Cinnamon
Sliced Strawberries (or fruit of preference.)
1 TBSP of Rum (I use Bacardi Gold)

Method:
Bake cake according to instructions ** I swap out milk instead of water, makes the cake taste "homemade".**
Once cool, stab the cake with a fork on top a few times. In a bowl, mix the milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk, rum, and cinnamon. Pour slowly on top of the cooled cake. (Don't worry if it looks like its over soaked, the milk will soak into the cake completely.) In a separate bowl, beat the whipping cream and powdered sugar until it forms peaks, then spread on top the cake. Garnish with sliced strawberries, and chill until you're ready to serve.
